Christmas Advent: Day 20

by Church Staff on December 22, 2023

DECEMBER 22

When we interrupt our day to be still with the Lord for a couple of moments we can be renewed by Immanuel and His love for us. Our Advent Devotional is an invitation to quietly settle ourselves so we may know more of His presence with us. Find a quiet space to reflect on the theme and verses of the day. Spend as much time as you are able and be refreshed as you trust His presence with you today.

Immanuel: God with Us in the Spirit

The Holy Spirit is present with us in the here and now, dwelling within all those who believe in Jesus. This week we explore how the Holy Spirit helps us live the way God calls us to live.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17 ESV)

DAY 20 FOCUS

Holy Spirit with me to make me more like Jesus

But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 Amplified)

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)
