Welcome! Thanks for joining us in our 2024 Advent Observances. These short daily thoughts are designed for us to sit (if possible in a quiet place), be still, be present to the Lord and ourselves for thought and prayer.
Day 5
This week we’ve used reading, reflection and music to hear from God. Today we’re using art which invites us to see, reflect and perhaps experience God in a different way.
Allow yourself the time to gaze and ponder this visual summary of our first week of Advent Observances from Judy Markham, one of our Northshore family members.
Here’s what she has to share with us
Advent, a time of waiting, praying and reflecting. As an artist I pray about the concept I wish to express visually. God speaks to me through pictures in my mind. Sometimes the entire composition, including the colors, come to me to reproduce on paper. But other times I only get a partial concept to start with and it must be developed. The developing process comes through more prayer and scripture reading. I know when it is finished. I share these ‘visuals’ with others as that is how God leads me to use the gifts He has given me.
On this fifth day of Advent, it is my prayer that this visual will enrich your time of reflection and prayer…as we wait.
