Devon Atterberry serves as a custodian at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Devon has been part of the team since 2022 and loves keeping the campus clean and fresh. With a heart for worship, Devon is passionate about serving by playing drums for the Worship Team. Outside of church, you can find him recording music with his friends and serving his wife and family.
Lane Beasley serves as the Head of School at Northshore Christian Academy. Lane joined Northshore in the summer of 2024 and has loved connecting with our school and church communities. With a heart for people, Lane is passionate about constructing systems, process, and programs that unleash others to better pursue their passions, giftings, and calling. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with his family in nature on a bike ride, sports field, or playing at one of the beautiful beaches we have in the Pacific Northwest.
Jim Billings serves as an Elder at Northshore. He has been part of the team since 2023 and loves being part of a group that is focused on discipleship and sharing Jesus. With a heart for outreach, Jim is passionate about how he serves our community. He is actively involved with both the Northshore Thrift Store and Lord’s Little Cooker. Outside of church, you can find him enjoying the great PNW with his wife Tammy, playing some golf, and tinkering with his classic car.
Carla Blake serves as HR Manager at Northshore. Carla was part of the team from 2000 – 2007, returned in 2019, and loves assisting leaders and staff with all things employment/benefit related. With a heart for families, Carla and husband, John, serve as leaders in Marriage Ministry. Outside of church, you can find her spending time with her teen and adult children, loving on her grandson, and paper crafting or knitting.
Ben Brandfas serves as Pastor of Media, Production and Technology at Northshore. Ben has been part of the team since 2022 and loves [getting to work with our amazing tech volunteers. With a heart for technical excellence Ben is passionate about seeing Gods people in worship. Outside of church, you can find him at his coffee shop or hang out with his 2 teenage children, Samuel and Rachel.
Courtney Bartel serves in Facilities at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Courtney has been part of the team since the winter of 2025 and loves to see all the smiles on the kids’ faces when they walk by. With a heart for lending out a helping hand anytime, Courtney is passionate about building relationships with staff and students. Outside of church, you can find her spending time with her family, enjoying the sun at the beach when the weather is nice.
Chris Donovan serves as Lead Technician at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Chris has been part of the team since 2023 and loves serving the lord by bettering our campus. With a heart for creating a special environment for our students, Chris is passionate about caring for our early learning students. Outside of church, you can find him at Emerald City Athletics training or at the local commissary stocking up on chicken and broccoli.
Geoff Enns serves as Elder, School Board Committee Chairman, and Life Group Coach at Northshore. He's been part of the team since 2009 and loves seeing firsthand the amazing stories of how God is transforming lives across all of the ministries of the church. With a heart for the students and families of the school, Geoff is passionate about equipping the teachers and staff to reach families with the Gospel through Christian education. Outside of church, you can find him working on cars that don’t have computers, tinkering in his garage, or gardening in his yard.
Fernando Feliciano serves as Director of Training and Development at Northshore. Fernando has been part of the team since 2022, prior to that he was an elder at Northshore from 2017 to 2021. Fernando enjoys planning and coordinating training at Northshore and with ministry partners in the US and around the world. With a heart for discipleship in relational environments, Fernando has developed longtime friendships with members of his small groups here, in the Philippines, and in Uganda. He is passionate about helping pastors and ministry leaders help the members of their congregation realize that they too need to be on mission with Jesus by making disciples who make disciples. Outside of church Fernando enjoys traveling to see the majesty of God’s creation and to visit friends, family, and relatives.
Sharman Flood serves as the Northshore Thrift Store Manager. Sharman has been part of the team since 2020 and feels blessed every day by the passion of her co-workers and the people she encounters at the Thrift store. With a heart for our community, Sharman is passionate about ministering to people's needs. Outside of church, you can find her spending time with her family. She also enjoys tennis, yoga, and walking her dog.
Heidi Fretland serves as the Business Manager at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Heidi has been part of the team since 2011 and loves her dual role of serving both the church and the academy. With a heart for outreach, Heidi is passionate about serving the kids in Casino Road Kids Ministries. Outside of church, you can find her and her husband, Randy, engaging in a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking and beachcombing, frequently accompanied by their adult children.
Peggy Gray serves as Biblical Education Director at Northshore. Peggy has been part of the team since 2017 and loves that there is always something new to discover in God's Word. With a heart for helping others to learn how to understand the Bible, Peggy is passionate about the details and is happiest when she is able to discover little facts that bring the Scripture to life. Outside of church, you can find her, on rainy days, sitting with her husband, Roger, surrounded by books, yarn or grandchildren, and on sunny days, riding bicycles or hiking.
Roger Gray has served as an elder at Northshore since 2010 and serves on the finance committee and the school board. He's attended Northshore since 1996 and loves the diversity of our church and the “hang out” after service. With a gifting for finance, Roger is passionate about helping the single ladies and widows with home repair projects. Outside of church, you can find him loving on his ten grandbabies (and his four kids are ok, too!).
Thomas Griffin serves as Campus Pastor at Northshore. Thomas has been part of the team since 2023 and loves solving problems. With a heart for campus and facilities, Thomas is passionate about safety and security for our staff, students, and church. Outside of church, you can find him reading or working on his old truck.
Shane Hawley serves as an Elder at Northshore. He has been part of Northshore since 2015 and loves serving our Lord and Savior, especially through involvement with youth ministries. With a heart for discipleship and teaching, Shane is passionate about helping others learn about Jesus through personal mentorship. He is actively involved with Awana programs, not only at Northshore, but throughout the Puget Sound region. Outside of church, you can find him painting large-scale models, working around the house, or enjoying time with the family (usually with a board game on the table).
David Jackson serves as Elder at Northshore and is on the Finance Committee. He’s been part of the team(s) since 2023 and 2021 respectively. David loves seeing God’s hand at work in and through the people and ministries of Northshore. With a heart for the Church and Academy, David is passionate about reaching children and families with the truth of Jesus Christ through a biblical world view. Outside of church you can find him spending time with his family and amazing wife Pam or working on home repair, remodeling, or car restoration projects.
Lisa Jacobs serves as the Senior Executive Administrator at Northshore. She has been part of the team since 2000 and loves her role in supporting the Lead Pastor and Elder Board. Her favorite job is planning our overseas trips to Israel. With a heart for volunteers, Lisa is passionate about doing everything she can to empower our volunteers as they serve the Lord at Northshore. Outside of church, you can find her chasing down the grandkids every chance she can get!
Helen Kovach serves as the Director of the Special Needs Ministry at Northshore. Helen has been part of the team since September of 2024 and loves making the church body a place for everyone to belong. With a heart for discipleship of all abilities and walking with families through all their ups and downs, Helen is passionate about serving those with special needs and disabilities and she sees it as an honor to serve God in this capacity. Outside of church, you can find her enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest or using her creativity to make things beautiful again.
Kailey Kovach serves as Director of Finance at Northshore. She stepped into this role in 2025, bringing her background as a CPA working with nonprofits to support the church she was born and raised attending. Kailey is passionate about stewarding well the resources God has provided to further the mission of Northshore Christian Church and Academy. When she’s not crunching numbers, Kailey enjoys investing in the next generation through youth and kids’ ministry or baking homemade sourdough to share with others.
Dante Lowe serves as a Youth Pastor at Northshore. Dante has been part of the team since 2023 and loves building relationships with students and seeing them grow in their faith. With a heart for student ministry, Dante is passionate about creating spaces where students can encounter Jesus, ask real questions, and form Christ-centered community. Outside of church, you can find him watching anime, brainstorming business ideas, or hanging out in Mukilteo with friends and family.
One of Paul's hobbies are automobiles and classic cars. He likes to follow the NFL and college football. He enjoys the challenges of memorizing Scripture, taking rides with his wife, Kathy, and going out to eat with friends. He and Kathy also like to host folks over to our house.
Micah Leighow serves as a custodian at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Micah has been part of the team since 2022 and loves helping to serve those by doing the jobs others don’t want to. With a heart for cleaning, Micah is passionate about helping with his church’s security and media. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with friends or family at church or playing board games.
Adam Mauch serves as Online Acquisitions & Sales for the Northshore Thrift Store. Adam has been part of the team since 2024 and loves connecting with new people and learning their stories. With a heart for serving our community, Adam is passionate about helping people discover God's plan for their lives, and he also volunteers with his oldest son's youth group ministry. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with his wife, Rachelle, and 3 kids at the YMCA, coaching his youngest son's basketball team, traveling to Arizona frequently to visit his wife's family, and being an active member in his local community.
Abby joined Northshore's staff in 2018 as an Administrative Assistant and has enjoyed working with and supporting all the ministries of Northshore. In her free time, she can be found creating something - knitting, crocheting, or quilting. She and her family (husband, Steve, and two sons, Jonathan and Zachary) enjoy exploring the outdoors - whether it is camping in a remote site or finding a random dirt road for Dottie (Steve's orange Tundra) to travel down. They started attending Northshore in 2014 and are active members of a Life Group.
Brittany Menzies serves as Worship Director at Northshore. She has been part of the team since 2017 and loves leading people to connect with God's presence. Brittany delights in hearing God's voice through all of His creation and creativity, be it music, art, story, color, fun, or adventure. When she's not at the church, you can probably find her with her pup and nieces/nephew getting outside time, reading, playing games, or eating something chocolate.
Debbie Menzies serves as Women’s Discipleship Minister at Northshore. Debbie has been part of the team since 2018 and she loves helping women grow in their relationship with Jesus! With a heart for women, Debbie is passionate about connecting people to our Northshore community through life groups and events, and encouraging women to completeness and freedom in Christ. Outside of church, you can find her spending time with family (especially her grandkids!), hanging out with her bestie, reading, going on walks or bike rides.
Mark Mielbrecht serves as a member of missions and the teaching team at Northshore. Mark has been part of the team in some capacity for over 20 years and loves sharing his heart for the world with the congregation whenever he gets the chance. With a heart for people, Mark is passionate about sharing the love of Christ and the Good News with people here and around the globe. Outside of church, you can find him exploring the great outdoors, enjoying time with family, or smoking up some salmon.
Rick serves as Men's Community Pastor at Northshore. Rick has been part of the team since 2016 and loves to see people being moved to where God is calling them. With a heart for discipleship, Rick is passionate about helping people find Christ and grow in their faith. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with his wife Twila, watching major league sports and walking his dogs, Bella and Nala!
Michaela Murphy serves as Accounts Receivable and Payroll at Northshore. Michaela has been part of the team since 2022 and loves helping her coworkers come up with solutions in our financial software programs. Outside of church, you can find her at the beach with her family and dogs.
David Oswald serves as the 4th & 5th Grade Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Northshore. Since joining the team in 2025, David has loved the opportunity to teach and share the Word of God with the next generation. He is passionate about shepherding children, building meaningful relationships, and helping kids grow in their faith both inside and outside the church. Outside of church, David enjoys spending time with his wife, McKenzie, and their two young children. As a family, they love exploring Washington’s waterways, raising their twelve chickens, and enjoying the outdoors with their three dogs. Whether in the classroom, at church, or out in the community, David is passionate about investing in people and pointing others toward Christ.
Esdras Perez serves as a custodian at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Esdras has been part of the team since 2025 and loves to help out no matter the task. With a heart for youth ministry, Esdras is passionate about spreading the gospel and making a change in today's society. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with his son and doing social media content with his lovely wife.
Nate Petrie has served as a custodian at Northshore Christian Church & Academy since September 2021. What he loves about his ministry here is getting to vacuum after the teachers and kids - and when they come back the next day, and get messy again, he's back doing it again. He gets so excited knowing he's doing his part for the kids so they can learn about Jesus. Outside Northshore, you can find him outdoors looking at flowers - so many colors, it just excites him! He loves his family: wife, Jena, and his son, Andrew. A fun fact... he loves hot dogs - mmmmmm, so good!
Henry Rivas serves as a Pastoral Resident at Northshore, where part of his residency includes serving as the Children's Ministry Coordinator. Henry has been part of the team since 2026 and loves helping kids grow in their relationship with Jesus through engaging, Bible-centered teaching. With a heart for children and families, he is passionate about encouraging the next generation to know and follow Christ. Outside of church, you can find him fishing, hiking, mountain biking, or spending time outdoors with his wife and their dog. He has been married since 2003 and enjoys creating meaningful memories with his family.
Andrea Rystrom serves as the Children's Ministry Director at Northshore. Andrea has been a part of Children's Ministry since 2006, sharing God's word with the children, and she loves every minute of it! Andrea and her husband have 2 adult daughters, Emma and Isabella. Homeschooling them was some of the best years of their lives. Outside of church, you can find her taking walks with her family and 2 dogs, browsing antique shops, and curling up by the fireplace with a good book and a delicious cup of tea.
Joe Rystrom serves as an elder at Northshore. He's been part of the team since 2022 and loves involving himself in various ministries. With a heart for 4th and 5th grade Sunday School and our Thrift Store, Joe is passionate about serving the community. Outside of church, you can find him hiking, backpacking, bicycling, and enjoying friends and family.
Greg Schafnitz serves as Adult Discipleship Pastor at Northshore. Greg has been part of the team since 2015 and loves connecting people into relationships where they can see Jesus. With a heart for building communities of believers, Greg is passionate about people and seeing how relationships can change lives. Outside of church, you can find him with his lovely wife, Lani, enjoying fishing, crabbing, and working in the yard.
Heather Shaw serves as the Principal at Northshore Christian Academy. Heather has been part of the team since 2017 and loves serving in Christian education to impact students, teachers, and families. With a heart for Christ, Heather is passionate about sharing the gospel and leading students to Christ while developing their character to glorify the Lord. She is committed to creating a nurturing environment where students not only grow academically, but also spiritually and emotionally. Heather believes in partnering with teachers and parents to cultivate a Christ-centered culture that reflects God’s love and grace in every classroom. Outside of church, you can find her enjoying pedicures, walking with her dog, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her husband and three adult children.
Nick Steinloski serves as Executive Pastor of Ministries at Northshore. Nick has been part of the team since 2024 and loves serving with an amazing church staff. With a heart for leadership development, teaching, and shepherding, Nick is passionate about leading the staff to best serve the community at Northshore. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with his family watching the Mariners and enjoying all things PNW.
Bryan Smith serves as a custodian at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Bryan has been part of the team since 2024 and loves making nasty spaces shiny and clean. With a heart for behind-the-scenes service, Bryan is passionate about keeping our church facilities clean and inviting. Outside of church, you find him hanging out with his greatest work, his six daughters: Jasmine, Mia, Zoey, Sophia, Nora, and Opal.
Jacob Vander Vate serves as Night Crew Custodial Lead at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Jacob has been a part of the team since 2021 and loves discipling and training others. With a heart for hospitality, Jacob is passionate about keeping our facility clean and safe. Outside of church, you can find him reading, playing ultimate frisbee, or running.
Herber Villalobos serves as Pastor of Northshore's Hispanic Ministry. Herber has been serving in ministry and pastoral care for over 14 years and loves creating a welcoming environment and fostering community at Northshore. With a heart for discipleship, Herber is passionate about leading life groups and other events for the Hispanic community. Outside of church, you can find him spending time outside, enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest alongside his wife and children.
Dave Wallace serves as a member of the Elder Board at Northshore. He has been part of the team since 2019 and loves the rich fellowship shared with the other elders, serving together with them in service to our Lord and the body of Christ at Northshore. With a heart for the worship and teaching functions of Northshore, Dave is passionate about the truth of the gospel once delivered by the Apostles and God-centered Christian worship. Outside of church, you can find him reading, walking, getting into the forests and mountains, or operating an amateur radio station.
Iris Smith serves as a custodian at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Iris has been part of the team since 2026 and loves working quietly behind the scenes. With a heart for stewardship, Iris is passionate about keeping spaces clean and organized. Outside of church, she enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.
Jaime Smith serves as a Facilities Department Operations Manager at Northshore Christian Church & Academy. Jaime has recently joined the team and loves the opportunity to serve others and be part of the Northshore community. With a heart for people and serving the church, Jaime is passionate about encouraging others, building relationships, and making a positive impact in the church community. Outside of church, you can find him spending time with his wife and family, enjoying the outdoors, working on cars, and exploring new places.
