Day 14 - Advent Observances

by Church Staff on December 19, 2024

Welcome! Thanks for joining us in our 2024 Advent Observances. These short daily thoughts are designed for us to sit (if possible in a quiet place), be still, be present to the Lord and ourselves for thought and prayer.

Day 14

Yesterday, we sat with the Lord in our deep longings. It can be hard to reconcile the tension of longings unfulfilled or understand promises that don’t seem to be coming true. In these times our best response is to keep coming before the Lord, surrendering the longing, and know that He is with us in the hard and the heavy.

The song, Come All You Unfaithful, by Sovereign Grace, speaks to the reality of our humanity and brokenness, and the reality of Christ’s presence with us and His continual invitation to draw near.

Let the Lord care for you while watching and listening to this song

Come All you Unfaithful

CLOSE YOUR TIME IN PRAYER

Let the words of Psalm 73:26 be your closing prayer:
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

This song captures the hard of the Christmas season. We need permission to come though we are broken, grieving, tired. Thank you for placing me at the feet of Jesus tonight.
