Welcome! Thanks for joining us in our 2024 Advent Observances. These short daily thoughts are designed for us to sit (if possible in a quiet place), be still, be present to the Lord and ourselves for thought and prayer.
Day 15
We’ve explored our heart’s restlessness and longings this week. We live in tension: gratitude for longings that have been fulfilled, and waiting for longings that are, as of yet, unmet. In the tension God’s invitation is always to draw near to Him, and His promise in return is He will draw near to us.
Today let us reflect on Psalm 27:8 along with the accompanying art graciously provided by NCC member, Beth Ross. Try setting a timer for 3 to 5 minutes so you don’t have to worry about the passing of time. Allow the Scripture and picture to guide your thoughts, being aware that God speaks through words, color, images, symbolism, and the small details of the art, as well as the entire piece.
CLOSING PRAYER
Thank you, Lord, for the promise that when we take the time to seek Your face and draw near to You, You always draw near to us.

I hope I can meet Beth Ross. I think she and I speak the same language.
