Keep Building

Series: Building What Lasts

Summary

Pastor Nick teaches from Nehemiah 4 about what it means to keep building when the work becomes difficult. Using the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls, he reminds us that resistance and opposition are a normal part of following God and should not automatically be interpreted as God’s absence. When challenges arise, we are called to remember that the Lord is with us and that no obstacle is bigger than the God who has called us. Nick encourages those who are exhausted or discouraged not to give up, but to continue persevering in the areas that matter—whether in faith, marriage, family, relationships, or personal growth. He also emphasizes that we were never meant to build the entire “wall” alone, because God has given each person a specific part to build. Like the workers in Nehemiah and the different parts of a body, we each have a role that contributes to something greater. The church should be a place where we can honestly admit when we need help and allow others to come alongside us in prayer and encouragement. The message closes with three reminders: expect resistance, remember who is with you, and keep building together. Nick challenges everyone to bring their discouragement to God, identify their next faithful step, ask for help when needed, and keep building one stone—and one step—at a time.
