Mary Hears the Greatest News

Series: Angels We Have Heard On High

Summary

God is moving in powerful and unexpected ways, both globally and locally, and the speaker witnessed this firsthand during two weeks in Kenya and Rwanda. Through entrepreneurial and leadership training offered over several years, entire communities in the Narok region have begun to hope, dream, and transform their economic and spiritual futures. Local leaders—once limited by what they call “poverty of the mind”—are now creating businesses, funding churches, mentoring youth, and even providing audio Bibles to elders who cannot read or see. Stories like Grace’s flourishing sheep and hay business, Pastor Joseph’s expanding ventures that lifted his family out of poverty, and his mother Ameena’s transformation from isolation to becoming a regional spokesperson, show how deeply these changes are taking root. The team was honored repeatedly with gifts, blessings, and symbols of authority, reflecting the profound gratitude of the communities they served. Justin, their Masai director who once faced rejection, is now recognized by chiefs and governors because of the impact of his work. All these stories point to God doing “a new thing”—renewing minds, restoring dignity, and opening doors that once seemed impossible. The message ultimately shifts to reflect on God’s even greater honor toward Mary, the one chosen to carry Jesus, and invites listeners to approach the Advent season with renewed wonder and openness to God’s work.
