Series: Vision Series - September 2025
August 31, 2025 | Scott Harris
In this message, Lead Pastor, Scott Harris, begins by recounting Constantine’s vision before a decisive battle in 300 A.D., where he saw a cross with the words “In this sign conquer.” Acting on that vision, Constantine ordered Christian symbols painted on his soldiers’ shields, and against overwhelming odds, they won. This victory not only made Constantine sole emperor of Rome but also led to Christianity being legalized and eventually becoming the faith of the empire, shaping history. The speaker then shares a personal parallel from 2018, when he woke up in the night with words that wouldn’t leave his mind. Writing them down at 2:13 a.m., he later discovered those same words formed the foundation of Northshore’s vision statement: “To see our communities changed through hope in Jesus, one person at a time.” He emphasizes that God gives vision to bring unity and direction, citing Proverbs 29:18 that “without vision, people perish.” Just as a team or symphony needs shared focus, so does the church to avoid chaos and fulfill its mission. The vision isn’t limited to the church building; it extends to every believer’s family, friendships, workplace, and community. God has divinely planted each person in their unique mission field, both locally and globally, to reach others with the hope of Jesus. Ultimately, the call is to embrace this vision together so that lives and communities are transformed through Christ.
