The Power Of Practice

Series: Daniel: Doing What Is Right In A Changing Culture

July 28, 2024 | Lead Pastor Scott Harris

In Daniel 6, we see the story of Daniel and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were taken captive from Judah to Babylon, thrust into a vastly different culture. Despite this, God worked powerfully through them. The narrative raises the question of how to respond to a culture that often contradicts one’s values and beliefs. Daniel exemplifies being a "change agent" by living out his faith and maintaining an "excellent spirit," which sets him apart from others. As he gains the King's favor, those around him seek to find fault but cannot, highlighting his integrity and faithfulness. The chapter encourages believers to engage with culture positively, drawing inspiration from Daniel’s example of steadfastness and excellence, even amidst opposition.
